Cell and Molecular Biology 3e: What We Know & How We Found Out. An online, interactive electronic textbook (iText)
Like its predecessor, CMB3e (Cell and Molecular Biology 3e: What We Know & How We Found Out) is an Open Education Resource (OER) covered by a Creative Commons CCBY license (for more details, check out the license page of the iText). CMB3e is an interactive electronic text (iText), focusing on experimental support for what we know about cell and molecular biology. It was written to serve as the introductory biology course for biology majors with high school chemistry and biology prerequisites as well as for “gateway” cell and molecular biology courses for students with a college-level general biology and general chemistry course background. Basic, Annotated and an Instructors’ version of the CMB3e iText are available as free downloads. Click the Link to Full Text button to find and select from all versions of CMB3e.
The Basic, Annotated and Instructors’ versions of CMB3e were published in the fall of 2018. CMB3e is updated and enhanced from previous editions, with new content and no loss of original content. All of the earlier editions and versions of CMB will be retired from the UWM Digital Commons after May 31, 2019. But they will still be available by request directly from the author (firstname.lastname@example.org). We hope that you will like the improvements and that you will find CMB3e as useful as the earlier editions. Remember, we welcome all comments that will help us improve the iText for the next release.
