  • Cell and Molecular Biology 5e: What We Know & How We Found Out. An online, interactive electronic textbook (iText) by Gerald Bergtrom

Cell and Molecular Biology 5e: What We Know & How We Found Out. An online, interactive electronic textbook (iText)

    Gerald Bergtrom

Like its predecessor, CMB5e (Cell and Molecular Biology: What We Know & How We Found Out) is an Open Education Resource (OER) covered by a Creative Commons CC-BY license (for more details, check out the CMB5e license page). CMB5e is an interactive electronic text (iText) with a focus on experimental support for what we know about cell and molecular biology. It was written to serve as an introductory text for biology majors with high school chemistry and biology prerequisites as well as for “gateway” cell and molecular biology courses for students with a college-level general biology and general chemistry course background. A Sample Chapter, Basic, Annotated and Instructors version of the CMB5e iText are available as free downloads at https://dc.uwm.edu/biosci_facbooks/1.

CMB5e is updated and enhanced from previous editions, with new content and no loss of original content. All earlier editions and versions of CMB are still available, if necessary by request directly from the author (bergtrom@uwm.edu). We hope that you will like the improvements and that you will find CMB5e as useful as the earlier editions. Remember, we welcome all comments that will help us improve the iText for the next release.
