Like its predecessor, CMB4e (Cell and Molecular Biology: What We Know & How We Found Out) is an Open Education Resource (OER) covered by a Creative Commons CC-BY license (for more details, check out the CMB4e license page). CMB4e is an interactive electronic text (iText) with a focus on experimental support for what we know about cell and molecular biology. It was written to serve as an introductory text for biology majors with high school chemistry and biology prerequisites as well as for “gateway” cell and molecular biology courses for students with a college-level general biology and general chemistry course background. Basic, Annotated and an Instructors versions of the CMB4e iText are available as free downloads. Click Link to Full Text (above) to find and select from all versions of CMB4e.
The Basic, Annotated and Instructors versions of CMB4e were published in January 2020. CMB4e is updated and enhanced from previous editions, with new content and no loss of original content. Clicking Link to Full Text provides access to all of the CMB4e versions. All earlier editions and versions of CMB are still be available, if necessary by request directly from the author (email@example.com). We hope that you will like the improvements and that you will find CMB4e as useful as the earlier editions. Remember, we welcome all comments that will help us improve the iText for the next release.
