Coral Trapping of Microscopic Particles
Mentor 1
Jorg Woehl
Start Date

Description
The purpose of this project was to gain familiarity with the technology and methods used with coral trapping, to experiment with the method of defocused particle tracking that will work alongside coral trapping to locate particles in Z direction and to test a home built capacitor for use with coral trapping. Coral Trapping is a novel method of manipulating and trapping small particles created by Dr. Woehl. It uses electrophoresis and dielectrophoresis which is the manipulation of charged and non-charged particles under the influence of an electric field.
