Sustainable Environments with Urban Informatics

Introduction

The International Journal of Geospatial and Environmental Research (IJGER, Editor Woonsup Choi) is an open-access, peer-reviewed international journal published on behalf of Korea-America Association for Geospatial and Environmental Sciences (KAGES). IJGER provides a forum for discussion among researchers in all fields of geography including human, physical, and environmental research that has an explicit spatial dimension. It places particular emphasis on the development and applications of geospatial technologies, such as geographic information systems, remote sensing, and spatial analysis.

Dr. Bumseok Chun, a Guest Editor of the special issue of IJGER on Sustainable Environments with Urban Informatics, invites submission of papers that encapsulate the vision of cities that not only embrace technological advancements but also prioritize sustainability and the well-being of their residents.

The scope of Sustainable Environments with Urban Informatics includes but is not limited to:

  • Analyzing urban environments by spatial big data or digital twins
  • Delving into the relationships between people, place, and technology in cities
  • Focusing on the coupled human-nature interaction with urban informatics
  • Addressing environmental inequity by spatial data
  • Global and local climate change and resilient cities with environmental informatics
  • Smart cities and urban planning with data-driven decision-making (DDDM)
  • Green infrastructure and sustainable living with health informatics
  • Transportation and mobility solutions with geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI)
  • Exploring various urban problems and applications in urban informatics as well as rural issues
  • Manuscripts should adhere to the IJGER Policies outlined at Journal policies. Potential authors should first submit an abstract (150-250 words) detailing the proposed manuscript to Bumseok Chun (Bum.Chun@tsu.edu) by April 28, 2024. Authors will then be asked to submit completed manuscripts for review by July 31, 2024. See below for further details.
