Description
Grow is an ongoing project dedicated to raising awareness of global waste and overconsumption through the repurposing of used plastic grocery bags into sculptural objects. The project, currently in its fourth year, focusses on continually producing and installing forms, while also providing community education through monthly workshops at the Lynden Sculpture Garden. The most recent stage of the project involves preparing for its first major public installation in the upcoming months, as it has been given permission to be installed in Milwaukee’s City Hall. As Grow reaches it’s final stretch, this presentation will reflect on the community impact the project has had, as well as its implications looking forward into an ever growing environmental crisis.
