Description

This study is a continuation of an ongoing project where the primary objective is to focus on the previously uncritiqued methods of architecture interviewing and to examine the impact that contemporary architects have on individuals across a community. For this study, we interviewed an art educator from the Walkers Point Center of the Arts, who has singlehandedly experienced the construction of new developments that had no prior community input and conducted interviews with faculty from the University of Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning, where we were given insight on how the early design process is practiced in architecture while critiquing the hierarchical perspective of designers. It is imperative to investigate the design process from the perspective of individuals in varying disciplines to become more aware of the value of community engagement during and after the design process. The purpose of this project is to analyze the impact that architects have on a community from the perspective of the stakeholders, including individuals from varying disciplines.
