I created a humanities poster that focused on rape and sexual assault on college campuses. For my research findings I studied themes of victim blaming, incapacitated sexual assault, and the limited support from universities. For the recommendations, I thought of ways in which colleges can help support students who are victims of sexual assault and how they can prevent sexual violence on their campus. These included educating students on consent, ways to challenge victim blaming, and expanding women resource centers to UWM at Washington County and Waukesha. Doing this project was important to me because it brings attention to one of the many issues in society. It gets people to acknowledge the damaging effects it has on college students along with how universities need to step up and finds way to prevent sexual violence.
